Should The Government Be In Charge Of All Student Loans?
Posted by: | CommentsIs there anything the government does well business wise? The United States government is in charge of protecting us and a case can be made that they do a good job of that. But other than going to war and maybe controlling the police, I find it difficult to think of anything the government does successfully.
The post office used to be the one business that was run well but that has declined in recent years too. Competitors from the private sector such as UPS and Fed Ex have been able to cut into the market share of the post office because it is now poorly run. The price of stamps seems to go up every year and yet the post office continues to be unable to make money.
With a record that is so poor in executing any kind of business, is there any reason why we should let the government take over the college loans industry in our country. President Obama has put up a bill that will be addressed sometime in 2010 that would remove all student loans from the private sector and make the US government the issuer of such loans. This looks like another case of the politicians thinking they know more than the rest of us.
One of the most compelling reasons why this should not go through is that we would be giving the government more power than it already has. Our children’s fates would be in the hands of someone behind a desk in Washington who would be deciding which of our children get loans and thus which of them get to go to college. Is this really what we want?
We as American citizens have to be very careful how much power we let our government take on. Left unchecked, they will try to take over every industry and rule our lives completely. People in Washington want power and one way they get it is by trying to control our lives through taxes and the many decisions we allow them to make. It is now time to step back and remember that they work for us and not the other way around.

The Economic Stimulus Bill Endangers Our Country

There are some reputable companies that charge fees for information on grants, but they are established companies that have been in business for some time. Now there has been increased interest in locating programs, government bureaucrats have started to label them as scams.
The bill the Democrats recently passed has no special Obama stimulus grants in it. This is something that many people fail to understand. There just isn’t any money in that bill for individual people. There are ways for some folks to benefit from it such as get a newly created job or get help with their mortgage but there is nothing where they are going to get cash from the government. If they think they can qualify for a government grant they can apply to one, but those grants won’t be any bigger or easier to get than they always are.
The United States is stuck in a very difficult situation. The economy is continuing to fail and the government continues to increase the deficit as if there are no consequences. Obama was elected because people wanted change, however, most people have no clue the trouble the country is truly in. It is true we are getting change. However, it is not the change people were hoping for.
The only scam most of us see it the US government itself. This stimulus bill is probably the biggest scam the country has ever seen as the government gives away all our tax dollars. Hopefully, people will soon realize this and make it very hard for the politicians to do any more damage.
Unfortunately, so many people just don’t understand how economics works and think the government has an unlimited amount of funding. If we continue down the path we are on, and that seems likely, we may all find out the hard way that spending more money is not the answer to our problems.

Financial Aid Is Needed By Many Americans
Posted by: | CommentsThe stimulus bill that was passed earlier this year has meant that more money was being given away and loaned out than ever before in this countries history. This giveaway will undoubtedly be argued about for years to come and it may never be agreed upon whether it was a success. Right now though, it is clear that people are looking for ways to get a piece of the action.
One of the areas where people are hoping to get some of the money is through one of the new Obama grants. Whether there will be more money available to individuals than in the past has yet to be seen but people are interested nevertheless. Right now times are so tough for so many people that they will be looking for freebies where ever they can find them.
The Obama stimulus grant money that everyone is trying to get is really free if it comes in the form of a grant. Government grants are money that is given to a person or an organization for a specific reason that does not have to be repaid. Of course, since it is free, lots of people will try to get it and it may be difficult to qualify for. If you have a sob story and really need the money, chances are that someone else has a worse story and will get it instead of you. For this reason, it seems many people may be disappointed that they don’t qualify for these grants.
One thing that some are trying to find are student loans and back to school grants. President Obama might have mentioned something about moms going back to school and that has sent moms all over the country to their computers trying to find out more. He has also put through a new bill where all student loans would be dispersed by the government instead of through private companies, as is the norm now. This bill is due to be voted on next year and will undoubtedly have some opposition.
A tremendous amount of money has been given away and right now it is impossible to tell if it is working. Unemployment is still high and jobs are still difficult to find so many wonder if our tax dollars are being wasted. Nothing has changed in our political system as the liberals love what is happening with the distribution of wealth and the conservatives hate it.
